What was supposed to be an easy 18-mile, two-day backpacking trip turned into a humbling reminder of just how much winter weight my buddy and I had picked up over the past few months. After we packed up camp, I almost walked past this scene without taking a photo. The lake had become a perfect sheet of glass, reflecting the mountains with almost no ripple in sight. I knew I'd regret leaving without capturing it. This is my favorite photo I've taken to date, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed taking it.
